At Can Vidalet Bodegas, winery in Mallorca, we are passionate about wine, which is why we are very excited to announce that we will be taking part in this year’s edition of the Fira del Vi in Pollença. This event was first established in 2004 by the Associació de vi primitiu de Pollença and ever since it has been a must attend event amongst both locals and tourists. Every year the Claustre de Sant Domingo fills with representatives from different wineries from across Mallorca and the whole Balearic Islands, taking part in a special two-day event. This year it will take place on the 11th and 12th of May. Why was the Fira del Vi created?
Mallorca is an island known for its beautiful rural landscapes and pleasant all year-round climate. Making it the perfect place for wine production. So, it´s no wonder that there are currently 91 wineries operating in Mallorca. The importance of wine making in Mallorca has become part of its inhabitant’s roots and history, making wine and its production a crucial part of Mallorcan culture.
The organisation who first established this wine fair created it with three main objectives in mind:
- To promote and showcase the latest novelties from the wineries attending the fair as well presenting their most recent products.
- To link producers with distributers and restauranteurs in order to create a trade network.
- To raise awareness and show appreciation for the wine being produced in Mallorca.
What to expect during the Fira del Vi 2019
This eagerly awaited event will be taking place across two days, the door of the Claustre de Sant Domingo will be open on the Saturday from 10:00h to 20:30h, and on the Sunday from 10:00h to 14:00h. The entrance fee is 10€, it includes a free wine glass featuring the events logo for you to sample the wine from, a goodie bag and a 3€ discount voucher for if you decide to purchase some wine to take home. It is a great event for those who appreciate wine and want to sample the incredible wine products being produced in Mallorca.
Since 2004 our artisan winery in Pollença has been attending the famous Fira del Vi and this year we will be back to offer a wide selection of the products which we create at Can Vidalet. For this year’s edition we will be offering one of our largest selections which will include products from our base range, our micro-vinifications and spirits.

As we have mentioned we will be attending the 2019 Fira del Vi and we are very excited to announce some of the wines that we will be showcasing this year. At our stand you will find the Ses Pedres 2017; a fruity and floral elegant wine made with 100% Chardonnay and aged in French oak barrels, the So del Xiprer 2015; an expressive and well balanced aged red wine giving aromas of ripe red fruit and balsamic notes, the Barros de Cecili; one of our micro-vinifications, a fruity, floral and citrus wine made with 100% Prensal grape, fermented and maturation in clay amphora, and finally the ONZE; our artisan dry gin which includes 11 Mediterranean botanicals from the Sierra de Tramuntana, with citrus, rosemary, lavender, lemon balm and carob pods amongst other things. During this event you will find all of these and much more!
