Vinification

Port de Cecili is the first fortified wine from Bodegas Ca'n Vidalet - limited edition of 500 bottles. Hand picked and selected Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were used for this wine. The fermentation took place in small depots. The natural fermentation process was stopped by the addition of alcohol. The thought of fortify a wine is to give it a microbiological stability and thereby make it more durable. Due to the increased alcoholic strength of the wine (17%), the yeasts are killed and can not ferment the residual sugar further more. Maturation and storage for 5 years in French oak barriques. Manually filled and labeled.

Character

In glass, a wine of intense cherry red color with edges that have light notes of oxidation. The first aromas that come to us are of ripe fruit, very ripe liqueur - cherry with an unmistakable hint of chocolate and cocoa, which combine perfectly together. Expressive, clean notes, invite you to try this wine. In the mouth, caressing liquor with a sweet attack, which leads to a wine with polished tannins, elegant and velvety, perfectly combined with elegant acidity that makes this sweet wine pass in a surprisingly fresh way, filling the palate with intense fruit aromas, fruit liqueur and a final soft, elegant finish with a slight hint of tannins. The aftertaste confirms the elegance of this wine, giving way to comment that Port de Cecili is an elegant, fine, different wine, long-lasting, with a pleasant persistence for some time.
